An energy audit
is like fitness boot camp for your home; find the problem areas and fix them! Sometimes, your homes problem areas cannot be easily spotted anywhere except in your utility bills. You cannot always see the problem – and that’s why it’s beneficial to have a qualified energy auditor help you determine where those problems are hiding and the best course of action to tighten up your home!

A typical audit will look like this: Initial testing will be conducted with a
blower door test
to see how “leaky” the house is and where the air infiltration is happening. After determining where your home is loosing energy by this and other tests, options are given and decisions are made by you about the best way to fix these areas. Often, this includes adding attic or wall insulation, fixing holes or other areas that allow for air exchange, sealing the plates in the
basement
and/or insulating your crawl space with spray foam.

The energy savings you will soon enjoy is well worth the initial investment made to upgrade your home with energy improvements!
