Maximize comfort while decreasing your utility bill; add Insulation & air seal!

The U.S. Department of Energy recommends the average home have between an R38 and R60 insulation in the attic. Very few homes are insulated to a cost-effective level that offers maximum comfort all year long. Adding insulation and bringing your home up to recommended r-value levels in your attic and walls is a painless process that continues to save money long after the initial investment is paid off. Air sealing your home will compliment your insulation efforts for an even greater return.

R-value is a measure of insulations ability to resist heat traveling through it.
Higher R-value = better thermal performance. (Comparing R-value: an R-19 material resists the flow of heat 19 times more efficiently than an R-1 material.)

Attic Applications:

Adding attic insulation is fast and easy. New fiberglass or Cellulose insulation is simply blown over existing insulation to increase r-value. To maximize your return, consider air sealing your attic floor.

Wall Applications:

Walls that are completely void of insulation can be filled with blown-in fiberglass or cellulose insulation through a simple drill and blow process. The drill and blow process involves drilling small 3” holes on the exterior of your home and filling the cavities with insulation. These holes can then be plugged. If your home is sided, the siding can be removed before the drill and blow process and replaced after. Brick homes must be drilled and blown from the inside.

Air Seal:

Air sealing compliments insulation efforts and helps keep heated and cooled air inside by closing the gaps that leak air. In addition, by reducing air leakage or infiltration, your homes air quality and durability is vastly improved.
